FYI until replaced - IMO it can be bypassed. It's a circuit that blocks coolant to the turbo until warm. Yes, mine has been gone since I bought the car. But my local SMOG (emissions testing facility) is telling me that it is part of the air injection system, even though I told them a million times ...

Part help PLEASE!!!!

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone out there with spare parts for their 4ZC1-T can help me out. I am desperately trying to find this part:

Does anyone have one of these they would be willing to sell me?

Thanks!

Well, I found some Shell Rotella SAE 30 straight grade. I drained and refilled with that. So far, no change. Noise is still there, and no change to functionality.

Do you think this SAE 30 is safe to use?

Thanks,

An Isuzu guru i talked to suggested Shell Rotella 5w40 heavyweight oil. I might try that.

If it's also quiet in 4th gear but not others, then it's the mainshaft's center bearing - a needle bearing with worn inner & outer shaft surfaces. Well, I don't really notice any noise at all in any other gears. I really only hear it when I am in neutral and my foot is off the pedal. In the vid...

Noise, what is it?

OK, since getting the 87 4ZC1-T back on the road, I have noticed a noise I don't much like. Scenario: Shifter in neutral, clutch engaged (pedal out), I hear a distinct whirring sound. Push clutch pedal in, whirring goes away. I've done a bunch of reading, and it seems that this sound is directly ass...

Maybe power the fuel pump(s) direct in case they are not being kept on. Tried that. Wired 12v direct to the pump to keep it on. Same business. I assume you have the ITEC ECU (optical distributor; locked) Correct. Could the distributor still be at fault? But you should NOT be getting an over-high fu...

Just a quick update. I'm still stumped. Timing is good. Valve lash is good. Completely cleaned the fuel system. OEM FPR and damper installed. Changed the IAC again. Cleared the ECU. Same business. Starts, then dies right away. I guess next I will change the coolant temperature sensor. After that, th...

What psi is it rated for?
Its new OEM from Isuzu. So it should be correct for this car. Not sure what it is rated for or how to find out.

Looking at the manual, I wonder if I have a faulty vacuum switching valve.

I need to check the valves also.
