I'm a goneburger
To all and sundry I have not been active on here for some time as I have had other priorities and these are now taking over my future. So.... The time has come for me to move on from Piazza's both physically and mentally. I won't bore you with the details but the upshot is my last car is up for sale...

A memorable day
First up I confess to not being as active on this forum in recent times, there are a variety of reasons for this but I have not lost the faith. Despite reducing the fleet size and no longer actively hunting out or stocking more new and used parts I still have two cars and drive them regularly and co...

Yep you will need to do a set up if you change out your ring gear on to a new centre. At least you don't have to worry about pinion depth set up as it isn't being removed. A couple of hours, a few cold ones, a bottle of marking blue and some feeler gauges will get you there. The banjo diff head is a...

you got your timing wrong on the mechanisms, the cable style was a new and improved version ( yeah right) by Isuzu to be quieter and more refined for your delicate ears. (probably also cheaper to make) which I suspect is nearer the truth. But with cheap comes nasty and the plastic cable clips are cr...

I have a few cable mechanisms spare, some with working motors and some less motors. I prefer to fit the rack style as they are less prone to problems and no shitty plastic clips to break but they were only available on early model cars so you probably would never have seen them. If you need a new ca...

There is an important delineation requred here, there are mechanics and fitters. These days most spanner men are fitters and don't have many spanners, they do have laptops and OBD readers. Gone are the days when your mechanic could do a proper feel, listen and look diagnosis. Can they read spark plu...

Hold up there Elmo, if you have disconnected the main radio wiring loom that is why it won't start off the key. This loom at the very end as well as the handbrake light wires has a plug connecting to your gear selector if an automatic to prevent starting in anything but park or neutral. if a manual ...

UK Piazzas and Aus YB have the same diff, forget Japan the JDM cars predominantly have the salisbury diff and they have a different crown wheel so can't be grafted in and very few had LSD anyway. The good news is there is a solution, the bad news is can you afford it? I couldn't. http://www.ebay.co....

I had a similar issue with stained and threadbare carpet but the moulded shape was still okay so I bought some unbacked carpet in black, it has a little bit of stretch to it so not too difficult to mould to the shapes required. I used good quality spray glue and simply stuck it to the original carpe...

Trusting to memory the main bearing bolts are M12 but just measure to confirm, they are metric fine regardless so if M12 they will be 1.25pitch. If by any chance they are M14 which I doubt they would be 1.5 pitch for metric fine. Exhaust manifold studs are M8 x 1.25 pitch and don't skimp on material...
