my dash does the exact same thing. sometimes it will work other times it won't and when you sit still it will sometime just go nuts with speed readouts

loss of water and metal shaving in the water. what color is the smoke coming out of the exhaust. if it is a white color like steam then it coulod be much worse like the head is coroding away or something like that. defently need to pressure test it to try and locate the problem area better
