I have every fastener under the car for the front and rear suspension soaking in liquid wrench right now. I was going to start taking it apart tonight, but I think I shall wait for that stuff to set in for a while. In the meantime I got my fuel pump hanger bracket finished for both AN bulkhead fitti...

Yes, It is setup as a pull type fan. I am actually going to leave the fan off of the condenser side if I can and have the AC fan control wired into the relay and then just seal the rad. and condenser together with a bit of foam stripping. If that doesn't work then I will put a small slim fan on the ...

Back on to the cooling system side of things. They called me back this morning and Dennis said he talked to Ron himself, and Ron is confident that it will work. I still disagreed, and so they are going to make a new one for me and setup an exchange shipping thing. Reasons I disagreed were (and some ...

(I didn't realise the GM 7.62" design dated back to the 1960s.) Maybe I am wrong on them being altered GM designs. GM had a 10 bolt way back in the 60's though, but it was the 8.2" and the 7.5/7.62" unit appeared in the early-mid 70's Granted, any two diffs can look similar. measurem...

In other news. I used my newly acquired toy, a Percy's Wheelrite, to kind of play around and get an idea of what width wheel/tire and offsets could work on said Impulse with a 17" wheel. My results with stock suspension height and range of motion came back with: Front: 17x9 with a +3 offset. Re...

Yeah I agree. Stand your ground. Pitty you've paid them already. That's not entirely a bad thing. Some of the laws in the US protect me from things like that since I paid via credit card. If they don't work with me to fix it I can file a "Services Not Rendered" through my bank and I essen...

I got a call back from Ron Davis and the guy was adamant that it would suit my needs, but I still disagree. Sure there are more rows of tubes than stock and a hell of a lot more fin surface area, but I think the stock rad was slightly undersized to begin with (total opinion and no science behind tha...

The Isuzu diff was based off of the GM 7.62" design, but if that even translates into anything that could be used is a complete unknown. I always wanted to see if the GM diff could be made to work inside our housing, but I haven't gotten that far. There are no rebuild parts for them, there are ...

and a copper radiator of the same size would still weigh more with both having equal volumes. I don't entirely care about the lightness. of it. Copper is damned expensive compared to aluminum.

Well, it's much lighter than the factory one, I will give it that much. one advantage of it being aluminum. I was contemplating painting it black as well, but thermal emissivity due to surface finish is such a small functional thing compared to cooling efficiency and total surface area and fin count...

Hmmm, I have never even seen that before. The bolt pattern looks wrong at the rear to me, but if it was that would be an easy fix. I would probably make some kind of simple ring to help clamp it down. along the edges.

possibly, but the T5 shifter plate mount is bigger than the Impulse by quite a bit. you are probably going to have to fabricate part of your bracket to mount it. However, I believe the lower part could be made to work easily enough. I considered that myself.

The one I got actually didn't come with an offset lever, just one that was angled back a bit. The Steeda lever arm will bolt to it though and I can get one for $25 locally if I decide I want that over this one. I am going to go based off of feel. As an interesting point, height wise the offset and m...

I did, and there isn't much of a difference; The upper portion on mine is round and the Steeda isn't lol. They weight about the same, same basic dimensions on the lower plate. Materials and machining wise the steeda unit is just a tad bit better, but not enough for it to matter or me to care. Either...
