OK, got the car to start tonight. I had a few minutes to fiddle with it. I pulled the dizzy and checked the timing again. I am, once again, damn certain the timing is close enough to start the car. Now, some info, this is how I can get the car to start. I have to wait a few hours, and it will start ...

Could help you if you had your steering wheel on the correct side of the car but yours is probably in a different location. The correct side or the right side? LOL Yeah, I dunno man, its weird, there is a wiring bundle near the ECU and I have pretty much pulled it all outta there and I do not see t...

There is no diagnostic wire. Diagnostics is via the LEDs in the ECU. eh? It shows in the manual a single wire that you connect to turn the diag system on so to speak. Meaning, with those wires connected (or maybe its disconnected) your CEL with flash with the key in the 'ON' position, and then you ...

Thanks for the info guys. Have you been through the ECU self diagnostics yet? Most sensor problems critical to the engine starting will be picked up by that. And no, I cannot find the diagnostics wire to save my life. Looked everywhere under the dash, cannot find. Also, what is the best way to test ...

I've been thinking about temp sensors also. Particularly the one at the bottom of the radiator. If that sensor is bad or wrong, could it cause the car to fail to start? Could not having enough coolant in the system circulating cause it to fail to start? I have 2 gallons of coolant in the system righ...

Yeah, I'll figure it out. Being stuck in the cube here is my only issue right now. I need a solid weekend of dedicated work. As for grounds, would it be prudent to run all of my grounds directly back to the negative post on the battery? I am going to take my wire wheel to the painted spot on the blo...

A bad or missing ground wire can certainly stop things happening. Check the security of the ground wires on the front lower plenum. There are two or three wires that all have to be firmly grounded there and also the ones from the fire wall to the stud on top of the VALVE cover (see amorica speak). ...

Thanks, wedge. Part of my problem is getting the time right now also. I just finished putting her together, and now I have family in town and other stuff going on so I get about 30-60 minutes a day to work on stuff, and with no help to do simple stuff, it gets frustrating. Could a bad ground cause t...

Wedge, I have one glaring question that I have yet to find the answer too. How the hell do I read the CEL codes on these cars? With my Trooper, I would jump the A and B terminals on the diagnostics connector, and then when I turn the key to the 'ON' position, it would flash the CEL and I could count...
