Yeah it would make sense to try and keep the input shaft gear the same on every transmission to save costs, but Isuzu don't always make sense. It's likely that the KB MUA-5C 1st and 2nd ratios are the same as the Piazza and there was a typo somewhere along the line because they are so close. 5th gea...

Yeah stuffing the cluster gears makes the box a throw away really. Isuzu will want too much $ for the shafts. I enquired about that about 10 years ago when I stripped some teeth of 2nd gear and it was going to cost thousands. It's quiet in 4th because those gears on the cluster aren't transmitting a...

Sure the gear that it runs onto on the counter shaft hasn't worn aswell? It's not 4th gear, it's the main drive gear. 4th gear doesn't have any gears at all, it locks the input shaft to the output shaft with the synchro on the right of the pic. That gear would be the first to wear out because it onl...

Of the 2 ratio sets for the 4ZD1 box that Rodeobob listed they would probably both be ok. The ratios listed which are said to be for a KB 4ZD1 & YB 4ZC1-T aren't correct for the 4ZC1-T. The 4ZC1-T uses an "MSG-5H" with the ratios: 3.431 1.963 1.364 1 0.775 So it's pretty close to the &...

The shafts and gears are machined as one piece so you can't change ratios. Don't bother with a shuttle box the ratios are crap, would be better off with a Gemini gearbox.

There's no way you'll find shafts outside a gearbox unless you're ordering them from Isuzu.. According to this some KB 4ZD1 Rodeos have the same ratios except for 5th http://www.isuzupiazza.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=688 But then below that other KB 4ZD1 Rodeos have completely different ratios? Check...

If you're finding water in the boot then it might also be tail light or rear garnish seals, or through the hatch hinges. Front windscreen is probably leaking down the a-pillar somewhere, they can't really leak at the bottom because there's no lip at the base of the windscreen to catch any water. Pul...

left and right rack boots are identical, isuzu part number is 8-94414554-0 for a complete kit for both sides, don't know if still available from GM but worth a try. I have one kit only left now and a few second hand boots. Nah the rack boot on the pinion end is a smaller diameter where it goes over...

Have you been through the ECU self diagnostics yet? Most sensor problems critical to the engine starting will be picked up by that.

They have to call it a valve cover, because for some reason they call sills 'rockers', and those plastic strips along the sills on a Piazza are therefore called 'rocker covers' Also that thing at the bottom of the engine is a sump, not an oil pan, an oil pan is what you put under the sump...

You probably mean 'camber'. The track would decrease if you reduced negative camber as the bottom of the tyres would come in as the top gets pushed out. You can get adjustable ball joints with slotted mounting holes to adjust camber.
