PS - to paraphrase, someone stuck a st'd Rodeo or Jackaroo LSD into you Piazza. You should be able to "merely" swap the crown & pinion gears. Note that some front prop-shat flanges may differ in length (Wasp compared to others?) but all should be interchangeable - same splines, bearing...

All Florian, Wasp, LUV, Rodeo, Shuttle, Jackaroo banjos UNTIL the 4ZE1 are interchangeable with banjo-removable Piazza diffs (ie, NOT Gemini BW & Salisbury types). The differences are the ratios with commercials & 4WD (Wasp, LUV, Rodeo, Jackaroos) generally being 4.55:1 and passenger (Piazza...

I also reckon KYBs are bluddy good & they're my typical choice unless Konis are "essential". Having said that (and as I have said before), I got Gabriel gas shocks for the front of my Wasp 15 years ago and they are still going strong over 250k km later and MANY rough roads - and I neve...

YES! Not sure for Piazza's but often it's a larger spline/yoke. The shaft length can also vary, though shortening a shaft isn't a big deal (and has the advantage of a balance). FYI - if you have the 1"external circlip uni joints, all yokes can be obtained. I have 2 Piazza autos. One uses the 1&...

Ok - I missed it in our service manual (Piazzamanual.pdf) but found it in the Holden Piazza Parts Catalog (1/3 - D13; 03-340-1) #7 = p/n 8941669600.

Where did you mount the dampener?
Our 4ZC1-t's don't have one and don't seem to need one.

There is a one-pager I wrote on that circuit... https://imageshack.com/i/jwpiazzaturbowatervalveopg . As I recall, a coolant temp sensor operates an air (vacuum) valve. The air valve (vacuum) operates a coolant (water) valve. I don't see why the pneumatics can't be omitted - ie, temp sensor controls...

FYI until replaced - IMO it can be bypassed. It's a circuit that blocks coolant to the turbo until warm.

Klixon - see Jaycar Thermal Circuit Breaker/Switch . Typically ~$6 and come in various temperatures, both NO & NC. Occasionally RACV & RAA etc (use to...) run an article about them being a highly recommended addition to any vehicle. As they said - a $10 circuit (a NO klixon & buzzer wire...

Thermostats should always have a small hole in them - preferably with a jiggler or whatever tf they call them. I've been using Stant thermostats of late but they lack the hole. I merely drill a small hole and fits a split pin. And yeah, one of the problems with low coolant or an air block (as caused...

You're talking about " not figuring out " the uTech ECU? I know I wasn't too rapt in them though I don't recall why - other than the caveat order ALL (possibly) required modules with the raw unit 'cos otherwise they'd cost $200-$300 per upgrade . But they were one of the few with raw reluc...

Cruise Control electronics (4ZC1-t Piazza)

More of a stub or prelim info for now, but recently I found the cruise control boxes from my 1986 4ZC1-t Piazza & the one I bought separately for my1989 UBS17 4ZE1 Jackaroo and noted their similarity. Naturally curiosity intervened. In summary, both PCBs are the same. The Piazza has some added l...

My Dog! Someone that recognises the (subtle but) obvious - AND lives in Australia!! (And lives so close to Redarc!!) Yes - alternator charging is usually the best since it can push HEAPS of Amps. My 38AH AGM used to absorb ~45A after startup which is 5x to 10x its conventional "max charge curre...

When I said mechanically I didn't mean physically opening a battery up (when possible that's usually not worth it anyhow...). I meant by vibration etc, or "shock" as experienced using high current. The old Gem regs like Belletts etc can be adjusted up - just bend whichever tang . But serio...

I forgot - batteries... (from one of the world's experts) Wet/flooded batteries must be recharged every so often. New batts may tolerate 6 month recharges though I suggest 3 months. After sitting or any flattening they need desulfation. This means charging at 14.4V for soft sulfates (up to about a w...
