Thanks guys! Not sure which type of starter motor mine is, it came with the engine, in the form of a big smelly oily pile.... lol! Although I was VERY glad to spot the internal reg alternator when I started piecing it all together. My track Gemini now runs a Bosch internal, it's a world apart from t...

Here's the build pics. They're not quite in the right order, but vaguely followable. As you can see, I test fitted one of Gemracing's manifolds, there's plenty of clearance. Sorry about the lowish resolution (not even worth thumbnails), I've got full res scattered everywhere... http://www3.picturepu...

It still has the overboost valve on the front of the plenum - you make a fair point, provided this is still functional, the boost could only get so high. My reason for suspecting overboost is that the boost gauge I was using was quite slow to react, due to the vac line being pinched from my ahh, dyn...

I think it's overboosting, and therefore leaning out when the ECU simply can't give the injectors more duty cycle. This is a really vague guess at the moment, because it leaks oil too fast for me to really drive it for long - and I don't want to drive it too far if it is leaning out! Of course, if I...

Pretty awesome Piazza update today! So the keys had some dodgy broken Tonkins remote attached to them, but it never did anything, and I always unlocked the car with the key. Today, I opened up the remote and made it work, albeit in pieces that you have to hold together. Not only did it work the lock...

Okay, so. Started it, no more scary noises. No more coolant leak. Still leaks oil from something vaguely near the oil filter, I'm suspecting the oil pump, which is weird. The brakes work fine now. It runs nice and smooth when not giving it stick, but still runs like crap whenever it seems to make bo...

Wow, love it! Can't wait to see it with the tail lights on. I've been thinking of changing to import tails, and tempted to go the twin headlights, but probably won't. How did you remove the casting marks on the tail lights? ie, sandpaper, or? Was it hard to polish it to smooth? I've thought about do...

Check-in. Re-fitted the gearbox inspection plate and lower gearbox support brackets. Changed leaky lower radiator hose with one that I found in my spares pile, which *hopefully* won't leak. Removed the dead turbo, then removed the header for good measure (yes, separately - apparently it's easy if it...

Good idea Peter, I'll give that a shot. PROGRESS. It's the turbo. After getting the car on stands, pulling off the gearbox brackets and inspection plate, discovering the flywheel teeth are a little chewed, and spacing the starter motor with washers.... it was still doing it. Then my mechanic mate ro...

Headlight covers - this is confusing me. I removed the relay, replaced the fuse, and the horn worked. Switched on headlights and ate the fuse. Changed the relay with one from the other Piazza, replaced the fuse and instantly fried it when the battery was connected, headlights off and no horn! I'm sl...
