Splines, Yokes & Driveshafts (Isuzu)

Just a quickie on shafts & splines... It seems you can get any combination of replaceable driveshafts & splines. This is based mainly on the older, smaller, universal joints (UJs) with external clips, but may also hold true for larger internal clips UJs. The following info is off my head (as...

More than half a brain?

Anyone with half a brain would probably search the web for Piazza and hence find this site.
Besides Chris, if you want the price of Piazzas to increase as a result of PiazzaSearch, it's better people don't not see this site (else they'll see that Piazzas are worth more to Gemini owners...)

Hey Barta,
Didja pull one out - you said it was easy to do?
You should then be able to see what it's like and try a bearing shop (tell them what it's for; bring in the injector).

Hi Guys, Bartamann is here now... We just replaced the rack mounting rubbers which was the main problem - especially the oil-soaked RH one. There is still some slop on the RHS of the rack - probably the ball&socket for the tie-rod arm. But Bartamann reckons the minor heart attack syndrome has go...

Got my copy from McGills in Melbourne (ElizSt near BourkeSt) for $24.95; they had at least 5 copies left. McGills is a bit specialised (like Melbourne's "Technical Book Shop") - I tried to find the book in another nearby big bookshop to no avail. I've only read to p30, but it's an enjoyabl...

Small world! Yesterday I dropped in on a reputable vintage vehicle restorer where a fellow Bellettian works. Alas he wasn't there, but I spotted an Odyssey 1200 or 2400 battery in an old Peugot. Apparently such AGM batteries are popular because the their vehicles are rarely used but the batteries ma...

Be careful with thick oils. A mate seized at least 3 DOHC engines that I know of (often big ends). Yeah - generally impossible for Isuzu unless running over redline without oil and water - refer to various engine blow-up competitions; Isuzu are often record holders with over 1.5 minutes (and old Che...

Goddam - who used my name - it's supposed to be anonymous (mainly for lawsuits since I have a silent phone number). At least it ain't spellt right. But FYI, I may often denote myself as "the Arse-Cog" - it's close enough to both realities (ie, spelling and my character). Regarding hydrauli...

Note on AGM type (sealed) batteries

Too late? Maybe handy FYI? The Odyssey battery shown is a type that is commonly(?) called AGM (Absorbant Glass Mat), recombination, etc etc. These are NOT lead-acid, NiCad, Gel etc. They are zero maintenance in terms of adding water etc (they are "dry"). In theory they are a perfect batter...

Chris, Barry will let Piazzas join ICCA. I got the feeling he'd even let those Hummers join (if they have the Isuzu engine). But as you say, OzIsu has a different focus. Note that Barry started "National Isuzu" meetings several years ago which were held in Canberra. I think 4 were held, bu...

Hi All, I know it's now academic since ozisu.com got up (I like the name!), but I just spoke to Barry and yet again he confirmed what I thought - Piazzas and any Isuzu can join the ICCA, and badges are irrelevant . I still can't figure out what the issue is - other than "Isuzu" is register...

Andy, Just logged into ebay but couldn't see your(?) Piazza ad. It was there last night - nearly 2 days bidding to go with ~$1602 as last bid. Is it still for sale & is it registered or driveable? If so, I'll beat $1602 (eg $1700) but I'm keen to come over to pick-up etc. Can you call me on 03 9...
