Image Upload

Post by Virtual-R »

Chris just informed me that the image upload here was still displaying the isuzupiazza.com link, it has since been fixed and all images are uploaded to ozisu.com and also the links will be displayed properly also. Sorry if anyone was trying to use it to upload images in the past as I didn't realise the image link code was incorrect.

whats wrong with the phpbb code? is it a issue with the link displayed in the image upload? you might have spaces in the file name, if there is you need to replace the spaces with %20 in the link or just upload the image again with a _ instead of a space in the file name

phpBB3 has a image upload built in to it, maybe we should change to that.

Ok that was it then, the space.

I just copied and pasted what was in the address bar when you open the pic.

My phone soft ware is kaput. Ive got a card reader, it renames all my pictures everytime i use windows scaner/camera to save them. picture 001, picture 002 etc.

Ive started naming the pics.

Any thoughts on the thumbnail???

Yeah what I might do is change the forums here over to phpbb3, there is something in there that will display a thumbnail, then when you click the image it displays in a popup

Here is a link to the persons site who created the thumbnail modification, click on one of the thumbnails and take a look at what happens:

Yeah that works good.

Its just a bit of a pain if youve got to sort thru all pics and shrink them before you up load them.

I ended up coding something myself, which is similar to that mod however it will open the image in a new window. It uses a little button called [thmb] to execute. If the image is fairly large you would use [thmb]http://linktoimage...[thmb] instead of the [img] ones, very easy to use and should help to stop the problem with large images stuffing up the forum layout.

Its working on here now, if you click on the post reply you will see a new button called "thmb" up top. Just paste the image link (without the [img] tags) then highlight over it and hit the thmb button then click preview to see how it works.

I'll add it to the image upload page tomorrow, but its working and ready to be used as is.

If anyone finds problems please post here with details so I can fix it.

This is how it displays at the moment:
