A report can be run that will give you the number of currently
registered
Holden Piazza's that are on the Vic Roads Vehicle Registration
database.
As explained the field" model" is not a compulsory field and hence the
information is not completely accurate. There are a large number of
vehicles that do not have anything filled in the "model" field and
therefore will not show up on the report.. All we can provide is a
report
on :
Vehicle Make/ Model( as specified Piazza and where available) and the
Total number currently registered.

There is charge to run the report , the cost $50 + GST.

As this information is to be used in a publication , this request will
have
to be made to the Media Section of VicRoads. You can let Anna know
that
you have discussed the request with me. Contact details are as follows:

Dear Daphne,

I am writing to you in regards to our recent telephone conversation.
We spoke about the holden piazza which was imported by Holden/GM in
1986/87
in small numbers.

I would like to know how many piazza's are left in each state. Here is
the
requested information.

Manufactura: Isuzu or/and Holden
Name: Piazza
Model: XE or YB
Shape: 3-door hatchback
Engine: 2 Liter fuel injection Turbo DOHC
Drive: RWD LSD
Year of manufactura: 1982-1992
Year of import: 1986-1987 and small numbers of imports later

Any statistic or further information is most welcome and will help a
great
deal with our search.
Thank you for your time and patience.

Best regards,

Chris R. Schumann

Chris on my rego it says this
Make: Holden
Model: PIAZ86A

So a report for YB or Piazza might not return anything. Maybe others can check their rego stickers to see if they used the same model code for all Piazzas except changing the 86 to an 87 for 1987 models.

I remember seeing an imported 1992 model piazza Here in Adelaide about 2 years ago. It was at a Gemi Wrecker (dont worry at the time was just being fixed by the guy... - engine problems...). SO there definitely other piazza models here in SA too...
Plus at a cost of $50 they should really be willing to put in a lil legwork for you and find out what they were entered in their system as!!
(my rego papers just say "Holden Sedan")

Well I am still waiting for QLD, SA and WA who said they will do it for free. I dont think I will worry for now about NSW as they told me it will be a few hundred bucks to search the databases.

I dont know that i would bother with forking out any hard earned to get that search done.

I fixed up an 86 Astra for my little sister. We went off to register it the other week. I had swapped the motor as the one in it was shagged. I was told by VicRoads when it was presented for rego that i had to supply the old engine number as vehicles of that age dont always have their VIN recorded in the data base. They needed the old engine number to find it on the system.

I think you would be forking out money for a dodgy result.

I think it would be best if you start a formal Piazza register. All types, imports and Holdens. Even unregistered shells.
The deatils and Numbers are to be kept private but post up the actuall total numbers of cars in their build/engine catagorys.

If all were encouraged to submit their details and pass it around that the register has been started, at least you will have 100% correct figures for the vehicles that get listed.

Cheers. Bob.

So as you can see numbers have reduced!

So its somewhat official, 16 piazzas registerd in QLD and 36 where reg 3 years ago that is quite bad but not a surprise to me, I am sure we will see quite similar figures for the other states.
I don't think saying we have around 80 left is so far fatched.
