Wtb: JR 120 stub axle's and callipers, Townsville Qld.

Post by SpyShank »

Hi all, sorry I didn't want to have to resort to this but unfortunatly I can't afford to do it any other way.
I need a pair or JR 120 stub axle's and callipers as I cant afford any of the aftermarket upgrades.
If you can suggest a contact as to who can import me a pair rather than relieve an aust delivered piazza of it's stubs then that'd make it easier on all of us, you won't hate me for killing your cars, I'll like you guys for helping me out.

Fair enough but i can really see the point in claiming that you cant afford an aftermarket brake upgrade. If you can afford to need for the extra stop perhaps you should have got the good stop before you got the go.

Your going to pay $350+ for Piazza brakes any way, add in the extra size and the cheaper replacement prices when you wear them out and the better brakes have it over the Piazza ones any day.

His not after calipers Chris, just the stubs.

PM Bradlze, he has a JR120 and a JR130 he is wrecking. JR130 uses the same stubs but different disc.

thanks guys

well the reason I'm looking to use the piazza stubaxels is
a: their almost a bolt on mod
b: last time I checked dba was still making disks for the jr 120
c: $350 is still cheaper than all the bolt on kits I'v seen and at the moment money is extremly scarce. the cheapest engineer approved upgrade I'v found costs $740. if you know of any that are cheaper please let me know.
once again sorry but I'm moving to brisbane sometime between july - september and need to have the driveline finished.
a brake upgrade is definatly needed because I'm looking to use a 4zd1 so I'm pretty sure the engineer will require a brake upgrade to pass it.

Yeah but for the $750 you get better than single piston sliding calipers.

And thats if you can actaully get Piazza brakes for $350. I know id be chasing more than that even for JR130 brakes in good nick. Replacement disc for the JR120 Piazza would be $100 ea or more pads wouldnt be that cheap either add in a caliper over haul kit and some new bearings and seals plus the new RB colt tierod ends and your nearly up to $750.
The $750 kit is brand new and made up of better quality gear.

Its not to much to spend i rekon.

if I had $750 to spend I wouldn't be here. but unfortunatly I don't so I'm here just trying to find a pair of stubaxles and matching callipers. the rest I can sort out myself as I have a friend who works at supercrap who can get me the disks at employee price and the callipers might not even need to be rebuilt. also those bolt on engineered kits are somewhat custom and I'm not looking forward to having to get the disks custom drilled every time they need replacing.

but like I said if I had $750 odd dollars to spend then yes I'd do it.

so I take it that no'ones gonna help me out then huh?
not even a mention of one of these importers that I read about in the new section when you guys were whinging about having to import parts when us gemini owners (piazza rapists pfffft) use them, yet when asked where I can import them myself and save you guys the headache I still get no help, just more advise from people who must think I don't know what I'm doing. ffs can yopu just give me the phone number of one of the impporters that can get me this stuff so I don't have to listen to the "you should spend more money" quotes as I have already mentioned that I don't have enough for any other upgrade.

well in the news forum it was said that piazza owners are having to resort to importing parts to repair their cars, so who's the importer? whats their contact number? this is all I need from here.

look heres a few quotes from the first post in the news swction. Announcment gemini owners section.
Chris wrote:We are getting more and more members who either do not read our forum rules or do read them and pretend they own a Piazza just to get parts for their Geminis.
sorry to hear but at this point I havn't pretended to own a piazza
Chris wrote:So in the end of the day, us Piazza Owners who need parts have to start importing from USA and Japan as most piazzas at wreckers are only butcherd.
yes but who are the people you guys are importing them through??
Chris wrote:So we came up with this idea: Create a Gemini wanted section where you can post. If a Piazzas owner decides he wants to sell it to you than its all good.
yes but the only person who has a pair to spare wants "lot's of money" for them which kinda defeats the purpose of my resorting to the piazza setup in the first place.

I really don't know what else to say. I'm trying for a win win situation here but so far people just want to give me advice.
I'm 23, I'v been playing with gems since I was 14. I have never been without a gemini since I was 14, even when I had my commodore or my mondeo (and trust me parts for mondeo's arent easy to find either). I have had no less that 14 of them. I know what I want so could people not try and advise me of what to use because I alreadt know what I need.

Hey, i tried to help :finga:

I understand what your trying to say and i applaud the fact youve been more then diplomatic about how youve approached things. I guess other members on these forums are abit touchy, particularly when it comes to Geminis. I take it youve already tried Elky? Its a matter of finding someone with the stuff lieing around, which isnt particularly easy. I had a spare set but i sold them so im no help either. Ask Bradlze nicely, the JR130 brakes are useless so if he has any brains at all hell sell you the stubs. Money in his pocket, but its not any of my business.

You could also try Tim aka Bartaman from Melb. He and Peter A have a spare parts car, not sure if theyd seperate or sell the whole setup. Give it a shot. Failing that you could get some sent in for you from NZ by wedgenut or jay dee, but then its just getting plain expensive.

Good luck.

Yeah I know you tried to help and I appreciate it, but the moment that bradlze said he'd only part with them for lots of money if their going on a gemini then that kinda rules him out as I'm not going to pay more for an item than it's worth just because of it's intended purpose. I'm sure if they were going onto a piazza they'd sell for sfa as he'd just be trying to help out a fellow piazza owner. so if he were to actually quote me an actual price then maybe I'd be interested.
