The turbos had the hump in the bonnet aswell. Wouldn't give any more space than a eyelid bonnet would it? Since that has one huge hump across most of the bonnet..

Doubt Japs ever got the 240km/h speedo since they had to have their cars speed limited to 180km/h. The 240km/h speedo was a Euro thing. Tommy probably has it on his?
Australia only got the digi dash but they made a special version for us which could display a 2 at the start, prolly used in Europe too if they ever got digi.

all 88-89 in US got that hood hump. but really, the entire hood is rounded out for more clearance & air movement than the flatty/flip light hoods-

The offset hump rounded bonnet definitely has more clearance than the standard flat wide hump, Revhead has a 240km speedo in his Nero but I think he may have pirated that out of an 89 model, not sure.

I have been offered a high compression 2.6 engine and I know where I can lay my hands on a pair of twin choke del orto's with a manifold that wouldn't take much to alter to fit. Could be a decent upgrade for one of the g200's and would give a turbo a run for its money and be prettyy reliable as well. I have a full set of tuning jets and air tubes for those carbs from my mispent youth. Without the big air plenum I could probably get away with the standard bonnet. One day maybe!

Looks like the driver of that one parks it using the braille method judging by the scars, would I be arrested daring to suggest a woman driver? Just an observation based on the evidence of a shopping trolley in close proximity, a number of battle scars, some muppets hangin from the mirror and a farking vulture on top of the antenna

Got her running today. I dropped in a Walbro 255LPH fuel pump and jumped it off. Started right up but won't idle properly and the check engine light comes on after about 20 sec. of running. Also the battery light won't go off, but I don't think its a problem with the alt.

Edit: If I keep the 'Pulse hooked up to the jumping vehicle it runs perfectly but as soon as I pull the jumper cables off it dies. I'm gonna change out the alt and see if it gets better.

check all your fuseable links first

i had mine doin the same thing and it was the one nearest the battery sometimes not easy to spot use a meter and check continuity of them all.

also could be the battery ive had a dodgy one that was only 3 months old
car would jump start and idle fine for about five min then start getting rough idle and miss at revs

That tinny rattle when you rev it could be the turbo heat shield, one of the exhaust system heat shields or the sneaky tin cover over the bottom half of the bell housing, most likely exhaust though.

Update:

Swapped out the old alt for a reman, what a mild pain in the ass . Everything is running beautifully

All the dash lights that were on have gone away, and my AC fan is blowing properly now. Kinda sux that all that stuff was going crazy cuz the alt was crap.

:supz: :supz: :supz:

Just need to fix the crap front end bits now.

I bet wedgenuts left ball that that rattle is coming from the heat shield that is on the exhaust dropper one of the little welds that holds it onto the pipe has rattled and cracked.
