Dump valve setup

Post by Piazzish »

I got this aftermarket dump valve setup. Looks really bad with blue hoses i think.
Isn't this sort of wrong when I still got the stock valve on the turbo manifoil ? Guess i should replace the stock one with some "blocking plug" ?
Any suggestions/tips ?

The one on the manifold isn't a blowoff valve, it's an overboost valve. It won't make any difference whether it's there or not unless you want to run boost higher than the opening point of the overboost valve.

Also is that a one way valve on the line that goes to the top of the BOV? That needs to flow both ways.

Ahh okay thanks! The car was like this when i bought it, so I'm not good at this topic.
But do you mean the vaccum line at the top of the valve ?

On the vacuum line going from the plenum I noticed it looks like there's a one way valve in it at the point where it's over the top of the engine, that little white in-line cylinder. The BOV needs to get both pressure and vacuum on that line to function properly.
