DASH is dead!

Post by BADGEM »

hey all, im having some problems with my dash.
The speed area has gone?

It just switched off bout two weeks ago.
It comes on some times when i first start it.

I have pulled the gas out and checked all the plugs are in place.

Also read up on the forum, some people saying its a grand issue?

Can any1 give me some more info?

Search is a powerfull tool. Bugle posted awhile ago a pictured detailed fix.

You may need to resolder some connection on the board that corrodet over the years.

But yeah, please try to use the search function first before you post to minimize double which than just causes confusion later on.

Hi all, I have just got my hands on a Piazza and I'm trying to get my digital dash working. The bottom lights work but the top digital screens don't work at all. I have the dash out with the pcb showing but where is the common dry solider joint/ burn??
Thanks in advance.

Na I don't. But I've done this myself awhile ago. You will need to dismantle the dash and open it up. You will find a circuit board at the rear. Now it would help if you know anything about soldering and using a multi meter. Usually you should be able to see if any joints are "Corroded" they tent to turn golden or dark. Most likely you will need to re solder broken tracks.

Use the multi-meter to check for continuance. Also check all the circuit fuses. There the tiny gold with a black stripe on the end.

If that doesn't make much sence to you, give it to somebody who knows about electronics also I am sure you can grab a replacment of Bob or other members.
