VIC: DeLorean & Piazza Cruise 18th April 2010

Post by Chris »

Image

The Australian DeLorean Club is hosting a small Melbourne-> Dandenong mountains and thanks to James we are invited to join.

Meeting time/location is not 100% confirmed but so far

Burvale (Cnr Burwood Hwy, Springvale Rd) by 1pm leave at 1.30pm is in discussion.

I reckon it be great and lots of fun to join our somewhat cousin models and share some passion.

Check the DeLorean forum topic for updates or call me on 0429317022 if anyone is interested in joining me and some great D owners.

Chris

The septics are right. For once.

But my yellow Wasp is attracting wasps instead of bees. But that's from the recent northerly locust plague.
(Geez locusts are hard to remove! If only I stuck to the locust-approved 80kph.)

BTW - are bees still around, or have they left again?

I didnt end up going. I just put the pics up purely for your viewing pleasures and to make you jealous that your piazza doesnt go back in time but if it could it would go a hell lot faster :ANAL:

Nah - been there! It's the other cars that are so slow that they are still last year....

The future is where it's at - today's fuel with tomorrow's population - real cool. I mean, hot.

In real life the Piazza is probably quicker than a Delorean.
The Piazza is way faster. The weight alone of a delorean was a big problem

I know this is an old thread, but I just came across it and what the hay.
The delorian also has a weight distribution of about 65/35....due to the engine hanging past the rear axle.
apparently Mr Delorian wanted it to have 200 horsepower. It ended up with about 170 horsepower renault engine, but in america they added catolitic converters (and probably some other enviromental gear) which reduced the power down to about 130.

Hmmm - Delorean 1,230 kg & Piazza 1247 kg Curb weights.

Piazza 135HP in G200W & 4ZC1-t trim (and 180HP in Japan).
G200W & 4ZC1-t torques were similar - about 186Nm @ 5kRPM.
But the G200W torque was easy to double at half the RPM hence doubling the acceleration.

I don't know much about the performance....

But I do know Belletts have a 49/51 weight distribution (LOL!)
And go well with 400HP turbo G200Ws.

the 4ZC1-t figures I have are

Maximum power
(DIN) 152.1 PS (150 bhp) (111.9 kW)
@ 5400 rpm

Maximum torque
(DIN) 225.0 Nm (166 ft·lb) (22.9 kgm)

You may well be correct.
I was going from memory which was surprised that the 4ZC1-t had the same power 135 HP (I think) @ 6kRPM, and similar torque - 5kRPM; ~190Nm to the G200W.

Not that I can remember if that was the Piazza G200W though I'm certain it was the 117 G200W because that's what I had at the time. (A standard 117 G200W engine with tuned carbs and 4:2:1 exhaust = 300Nm@2k; 383Nm@3k; 100kW @6kRPM atrw).

And I was never familiar with the 4Z engine specs.... Just the G-W & G-OHV & G-S.

Thanks.
