Here's a link for those who want a better understanding to the design rationale behind the Piazza shape. Industrial Designers would be more accustomed to this sort of language. If nothing else this article gives a slightly different perspective on the birth of the car.

Interestingly the article mentions another of Giugiaro designs, the Asso di Picche (Ace of spades), which was an Audi Karmann in 1973. I wonder If Italdesign did any other 'Aces'...
