Some pics of my 87 Impulse Turbo

Post by impulsive »

Here are some photos of my 1987 Isuzu Impulse RS Turbo Special Edition. She's all stock except for a new stereo head unit and sub.

Right now I am working on cleaning her up under the hood. Found some serious gunk in the radiator so I have it out for a cleaning. I also have some oil leaks that need fixing that I am working on as well.

Enjoy.

Very nice m8. Pity they weren't available in Oz. Does anyone have an imported example in Oz? :tonqe:

Try ICCA.

There were some, though maybe that was when the ICCA was still the BGCC (Bellett-Gemini Car Club of NSW)...

As I recall, at one stage there were 40 private imports of Piazzas (late 1990s?).

Maybe Rick as well???

Thanks Izu069. Were these engines any better than the Oz 4ZC-1?

If they were G200W, then yes (that's my opinion LOL!.)

But our 135HP Piazzas have 180HP versions in Japan (4ZC1?). They seem to be the same engine, but I presume mapping, cam or turbo differences...

And I'm not knowledgeable on anything other than G-series engines (G-Z excluded; I know the G-OHVs, G-Zs and G-Ss) and the 4Zs to an extent.
The 4j whatevers.... or FWD Piazzas.... ???

Unfortunately GMH chose a superseded body. Then there was the mechanical dizzy etc - I expect Japan used the all-electronic I-TEC system including their Piazza dizzy which didn't appear here until the 4ZE1 (dual-optical dizzy).
