Sounds to me like you've answered your own question mate - if it's leaking from the windscreen, then the rubber might need replacing or re-sealing. I'd talk to a windscreen mob... But it may be worthwhile trying to locate the leak first to be sure.

Unless you have giant rust holes? lol

If you're finding water in the boot then it might also be tail light or rear garnish seals, or through the hatch hinges.

Front windscreen is probably leaking down the a-pillar somewhere, they can't really leak at the bottom because there's no lip at the base of the windscreen to catch any water. Pull off the trim off the leaky side and pour some water down there.

A common source of wet carpet in the front is from the scuttle area. Water gets in the air vents as it does and drains out the two rubber duckbills in the engine bay. If these are blocked water can build up and eventually come down through the heater box on the left. if on both sides you may have rust holes in the scuttle, In the Piazza scuttle at the extreme ends where it joins the inner vertical frame, about where the top door hinges are, the seam is sealed with factory goop. This hardens after a while and shrinks and water can get in. On the right hand side you can get access by removing the wiper motor and wriggle your hand in to re seal it but on the left you need to perform surgery on the top panel to get access.
