TOYPSI

Post by GeminiCoupe »

A good mate sent this to me, it used to be his mates car. His old man had it from new [25000km!] then he passed it onto the son and all hell broke loose. From what he can remember it had your usual shit like Monster tachos, boost gauge, minor stereo, along with *alot* of engine work by ATS. Details are abit sketchy but its fucking clean. I want i want i want.

Anyone know/seen it since? Been atleast a year since my mates seen/spoken to the bloke that owned it [they were good mates before my mate moved houses], at the time he was selling it.

Just wondering how much you paid for it Doug, Did you buy it off Nick or another guy? I remember when Nick was selling it he told me he was asking 10k for it. Your car was the 1st Piazza i ever went for a spin in, was a great car i remember everything was in showroom condition and not a spec of rust in sight, Nicks old man kept it garaged all the time since he bought it as a new car and only drove it on weekends.

I bought it off the guy (good mate of mine) who bought it off Nick for around 7k. When Nick had it rebuilt they didn't put the tensioner on the timing belt and it all imploded and it had to be rebuilt again.

I wouldn't actually say it was in showroom condition when it was bought off Nick but it was/is pretty damn good. Rustwise there is a bit in the tailgate which needs cutting out and some surface rust appearing on the roof now. When nick put the BOV on, it wasn't measured properly and upon closing the bonet it has left a dent in it which I'll get around to removing eventually.

You may get the impression I'm not a fan of the original owner and I'm not. Reason being, when Troy (my mate who bought it) called him 3 x weeks after purchase to let him know there was a problem due to a faulty rebuild, he was told " too bad, not my problem you don't know how to drive it" which I reckon is a pretty shitty thing to say.

At the moment it's still pretty good and I've done some mods and have plans over the next two months to make it REALLY showroom worthy. I wouldn't part with it for under 10K at the moment and to be honest I don't think I could bear to sell it anyway. Just love it too much despite the dramas it's put me through

btw, I paid 7k for it and have spent around the same rebuilding bits and pieces and getting it PROPERLY mechanically A1.
