Fitting new stereo in piazza

Post by Ghost »

How can you fit a new stereo in a piazza? Has anyone put a new stereo in their piazza?
The stereo I got is too long.

Get shorter stereo then, hang on a minute, do you mean too long or too wide? Most head decks are to DIN standard for width so you need to carve out the plastic plate a little and cut the surrounding trim to suit. No big hassle. If it is too long, ie front to back, just mount it in the top station instead of the lower ones but I've never had a problem. I just fitted a DIN standard one to mine in the bottom station and there was no problem with length, only width.

A nice smooth file makes a decent job of opening out the plastic plate to accept the DIN mount frame

I never had any problems with replacing the stereo.. Like alex said, just widen it or take out the stock EQ and try the stereo.. I used to take the complete middle console out which makes it alot easyer too.
