Finding any of these in good nik will be next to impossible to find. Besides I still prefer the look of these Momos.

NERO it is.
Purchased it today. For those interested in the same or other I would recommend this link:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/VOLANTE-STEE ... 415ed9204c

This mob retails them at 150Euro but they accepted my offer of 130Euro. That equates to AU$244 delivered. Much cheaper than all the others on fleeBay. Maybe I should have offered less.

You IDIOT!

It's for a Nero, not a Piazza!

(Ha ha!)

But I do like it.
Now for the adapter....

Nero, shmeero. Close enough buddy :)

Yeah I'll work out the adaptor if I need it. The car already has a boss with the SAAS steering wheel on it now, but I'm not that keen it. I will do for now. I remember back when I installed a momo boss kit on my first JR it looked different and better I must say.

Well, they are bot Geminis!

Now if it said STORM instead...

But I like plain Isuzu. That's what my Wasp (Piazza wheel) and Jackaroo has - just remove the Holden logo.
Admittedly it's the newer "Gemini" or II logo from the time when Isuzu thought it would be a good partnership. (But as the yanks know, you can't compromise with terrorists! [And the yanks don't compromise.])

StORM wouldn't have been a problem for me either. I know what you're saying but in the end it came down to aesthetics first and foremost. The longer I looked at the more I liked it. That's why it took me this long to buy the darn thing. It could have been called Geo for all I cared. I'm still a happy chappy. Nice little chrissy present for me.

And the rear spoiler and garnishes are due to arrive by boat just before Chrissy too. Sweeeeet! More presents.

I am merely PUNning the names...
Or not really a pun, but coincidence - Momo Nero and Isuzu Nero (Storm Stylus Impulse etc)?
Like the famous 24 in a slab and hours in a day - coincidence? I think not!

A recent pun drew my "dogs are males and cats the female" reply, but since all dogs are males, technically it shouldn't have been funny. (But what do you expect from people that give way to the right at roundabouts and think higher octane means more power....)

I like your intellectual humor, although it might be out of reach for some, even me :) I appologise if I've miss understood your comments. There you go, I've just covered myself for any possible miss interpretations in the future too :) ;)

Picked up this last week:
Image

It's the Piazza oil cooler assembly with the coveted oil filter extension housing that is required if your doing a 2.6 Rodeo conversion. It's a sad day when I have to buy Piazza parts off Gemini owners. But I digress. I wanted the actual oil cooler as well because I'm planning to double the cooler size by grafting two standard coolers together. Given that I will be chasing extreme power figures I thought it would be sensible to sure up the cooler's capacity to keep oil temps low. Does anyone here think I'm wasting my time or think this is an overkill, or if the cooler would still be too small? I'd be interested to read your comments.

I will play devils advocate by applying some logic, the Piazza oil cooler isn't huge and I have no figures for effectiveness. I do know one thing, with your engine running at normal temerature and the car not moving the oil temp will be more or less the same right round the circuit, sure the temp coming out of the cooler will be slightly lower due to convection but not dramatically so. Plus no oil will be circulating unless the thermo switch opens to let it pass. So regardless of the capacity of the oil coller the thermoswitch holds the engine oil at the set temperature, opening when it rises and closing when it falls. In other words it isn't neccessarily a fulll time circulation and cooling is minimal if not moving or at low speed.

For effective cooling (should that be a problem) you could consider removing the thermo block and give the cooler (or coolers) some forced cooling from a fan instead of relying entirely on air movement. Having said that it is unlikely even a decent fan will take the temperature differential below 5deg across the cooler.

Modern oils are designed for modern high performance cars that operate at high temperatures. Synthetics are another option to protect against lubricity breakdown. generally best cooling is achieved with high volume air pass and slow flow rate of oil pass so an additional cooler should help if you can get cool air across it plus this will also add a bit more volume but not that much.

This has probably confused you more than anything but if it allows you to seek more answers from maybe more knowledgeable sources that can't be bad.

I'm guessing 200-300ml would be added to the oil volume. But I do like the idea of beefing things up, and I'm sure it won't be an expensive exercise to join the two coolers together at a radiator shop. Your point about the thermos witch is valid. I have a feeling the Motec is capable of changing that parameter anyway. But then again I'm no expert with the Motec. Maybe Dave can shed some light, as he would have had to input these things in

if you have spare hoses you could connect them that way, give yourself some flexibility on location as well

With the surface area of the coolers going from a rectangle to a square the factory location might need to be tweeked. But yeah I agree with considering alternate locations. I have the extra oil lines that came with the spare cooler (see photo). In theory this could also mean the spare hoses could be connected to the car's original hoses to effectively double the length. I'll cross that bridge later, after the large front mount intercooler is installed. Right now I was only thinking the oil cooler could be placed more directly behind the new intercooler, with the aircon and condenser removed.
