Vibration

Post by B52 »

I have finally got around to again looking into the vibration through the steering at idol again.
Last time we replaced the drive shaft and gear box mounts which helped but not eliminated the problem.
As I know zip about engines I had a mechanic look into it for me.
The engine mounts appear to be flat lining and he believes that there is an additional bracket missing.
Below the extention houising on the Auto transmittion there is a plate with 2 thredded nuts welded to it.
Is there some support/rubber bracket supposed to be attached to this plate???
Either way I am in need of engine mounts, this bracket and a centre bearing for the tail shaft.
Any other ideas obout the vibration through the steering at idol?
Cheers

The above link shows the parts you want for sale but not sure if they are still available, ask the question.

The bit you are asking about is an exhaust mount as per the picture labelled "unknown" It connects to the flange where the front pipe meets the cat. However, be aware that if it is mounted badly or under strain it can cause more vibrations that it will cure.
This is the item on the left of the picture

you shouldn't have any problems getting these bits, talk to Bob or some of the other Piazza nuts on your side of the ditch

Thanks Wedgenut.
I have posted a reply to the Adelaide member.
Easier to pick up locally than from Bob.
I am travelling to Melb tomorrow and returning Monday.
Maybe Bob can help when I'm there?
I gave him
Thanks again for the reply.
Much appreciated.
