Steve, regarding your sub.

After you figured out how many Liters you have go here

has a nice volume calculator and what size you need to get the best sound out of it. :rr:

just noticed, it is only for rectangular boxes.. but i am sure you could convert that if you take W/H/L/D of the wheel base and recalculate it to box shape or the otherway.

But I reckon if you put a sub in your wheelbase you would get lots of rattling/vibrations and noise??!!

If his intending on using the metal surface as part of an enclosure then yeah it will sound horrible. However, if he was to creat a smaller square/box that sinks into the wheel well and then opens up into a bigger box once its past the well depth then that will work well.

You wont hear the garnish from inside the car thoough, so it isnt a real problem. If it worries you just use some StikaFlek black - the hard curing stuff and never worry about it again. Unless you need to take the garnish off, because this shit doesnt come off...

nah the garnish is mounted on rubber at 6 points wouldn't be a problem. Numberplate is a different story though.

Depends on how many points the numberplate is mounted on. If its four, ive seen little rubber/nylonish "tubes" that are about 3mm high - basically like a washer. Spaces the number plate off the bumper, with the added bonus of absorbing bass. They arent designed for this, im sure they have a better use but i cant see why it wouldnt work :D

i am planning on using a fiberglass sub incloser with a mdf top so that i can mount the sub and have a amp rack in one neat little package. the resson why i am using a fiberglass box is so that i can mold it to the exact shape of the wheel well and it will be as snug as a bug.
