Post by Ghost »

How do you take out the headliner on 86 piazza?
Don't want to take apart everything to find out it how.

Remove the rear vision mirror, just grab and push forward it will come out of the spring clip on the roof, then remove the three screws holding the clip and the small centre screw that holds the trim up, remove the screws from the sun visor pivots and remove the visors, no need to remove the rest clips. The front trim should now come down easily if it hasn't fallen in your lap already. Do the rear trim next, two plastic plugs cover the screws, take them out and the trim will come down easy. Next pluck out the covers at the ends of the pull handles and remove the 4 screws holding them on. Note that two each are machine screws and two are self tappers. Note which fit where. When refitting make sure the shoulders under the heads go into the slots in the strap or they will jam up. With all the screws out the side trims should pull away. The have one or two spring clips, self evident when you get them off. Remove the interior lamp ( three screws under the lens, don't lose the black plastic spacers. Pluck out the finishers on each side of the front map light if fitted and take out the screws and it will come down, undo the connectors on the lights and you are ready to drop the lining. There are a few little bent up tags holding it up at the sides, carefully straighten them downwards and fanny is yer auntie.
