WTB Manual Piazza - runner

Post by vinnie55 »

I want to buy a piazza.
prefer manual and turbo.
and I really want it to be running if possible, or at lease close to, as I have many cars in the driveway and would need to be able to move it at ease.

I am located in SA, willing to buy interstate but those costs will cut into my budget.

Price depending on condition of car and my circumstances at the time the car is made available.
Just run what you have by me, I am more than willing to negotiate and come to some sort of agreement.

Contact me via this thread or pm.

I've been watching them closely. Bit out of my price range atm. maybe if I save up a little longer.

Keep looking. Keep saving.

I recommend an original rather than (hacked) modified.
Especially if you need things like original air box etc for an RWC. (Modifiers of post-1974 vehicles should NEVER throw that stuff out!)
And even if the original is somewhat worn.

But buying others' mods is by far the cheapest way of modifying (viz: how many $10k-$16k modded Gems & Piazzas sell for only a few $thousand?).
The question though is how good are those mods?
Will that fresh paint peel or bubble withing the year? Is it covering bog & rust?
Will that new super-engine last as long as HedJob's? (It ran out before it was run in LOL!)

There is nothing like doing your own. If you are respraying or rebuilding other's mods, it may as well be to an original and you do the mods YOU want. And YOU decide & know the quality of the job.
But that means off the road for quite a while. And fiscal (over-)commitment. And assumes YOU can do the work, else supervise & afford others to do it.

But since the best (and only!) way to maintain an old or specialised vehicle is to have two (one as a spare), maybe the best way is get your first for the price & running, registered etc. Then buy the second which you can then do up (with the first becoming the later spare), or use for its mods or aftermarket parts etc.

I know the above is stating the obvious - albeit in a general vague way....

And whilst a good Piazza should cost say $3k-$4k (if not way more!), there are those that pick them up for $100.

But I get the feeling that maybe now is the time that Piazzas will cease to drop in price.
A few may end up at the tip or stripped for parts, but it's like people are hanging on to them rather than selling cheap.
Whilst no doubt that day will come for the Piazza, I didn't expect it until several years hence.

But prove me wrong. Keep looking.

BTW - the best deals are the patient ones.
And all GMH Piazzas are turbos (4ZC1-t). (Though I prefer the G200W DOHC engines as per NZ, and the earlier wing mirrors.)

yeah, thing is I can't really get two because I barely have the driveway space for one.
I've had a spare parts car for my fuego, but it's not actually stored on my land.... It's at a relative's workshop....I told him two years ago that it'd only be there for a little while...

I basicly want a running one. I'd be looking at the cheaper end of the price bracket as I am low on cash.
Hopefully if I got a running one I would be able to maintain it without a spare parts car, and just drive my fuego whilst doing any major repairs.
