Re: New Piazza

Hell yes!! At least I can point you in the right direction for shocks all around and lowered springs up front - rears might prove a little more tricky but mine could probably be replicated. I'm interested to see what sort of springs yours has - it looks slightly lowered. Yahoo Japan might even have ...

Gorrammit. I found where the water's getting in. Turns out under the wiper assembly, in the channel beneath the plastic mesh in front of the windscreen, there's a whopping great big rust hole. First inspections missed it because the rusted metal was still "there", just completely porous, b...

Time for another boring no-photos update. FRONT SPRINGS: I've fitted lowered front springs, bit of an experiment but they only cost me $22. Mind you, given the utterly horrible act of changing Piazza front springs, they'll probably be there forever. I'm going to come right out and say it, and I chal...

Mine had knackered steering rack bushes which equated to a dead spot. Watch the driver's side rack bush with someone else steering, with wheels on the ground (or at least one wheel on the ground) to load it up. I had fun replacing mine. The Superpro ones didn't fit my steering rack, the bushes were ...

No worries! I'd be interested to know how it goes, if nothing else :D Re E1 dizzy, I'm currently using one in my 4ZE1 turbo drift car. I'm about to change out the trigger wheel though. My write-up: http://www.ozgemini.com/forums/tech/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=27104 Other trigger wheels: http://ozgemi...

First and foremost, Peter, if you're looking to part with that Detroit Locker, inbox me a price, I'm definitely interested! Yeah, the Piazza shifters have the rubber linkages on the pivots. I tried to look at tightening mine up but it seems they really can't go any tighter, short of adapting a rose ...

Texty update, I have finally sourced a replacement gearbox, so the old one is out with the expected tedium of working on a Piazza, and I'm currently waiting on replacement seals for the new box to make sure it hangs onto its oil a little better than the last one did before fitting it up. I'm conside...

I have edited my post after not having much success with the Volvo option! I still think it would be doable but may cost more and/or be more difficult... The distributor I've been dealing with wasn't keen on the idea so I'm still considering which I'll go with!

The Piazza shock absorber bible!

Hi all! This article is for those who want their car to handle and ride well, as opposed to just lowering it and hoping for the best. Shock absorbers can make or break a car, and off-the-shelf budget gas shock absorbers are completely useless compared to a decent monotube gas or oil shock. Don't set...

Ooooh, Eyecon, does that have anything in it about a flashing oil light and/or check engine light? Mine has been doing that since the ECU conversion, but the old ECU is still powered... not sure what's causing it as it has an oil signal...

(All sorted out) WTB: 5spd gearbox (Piazza, not Gemini/MUA)

EDIT: SORTED OUT NOW, I HAVE FOUND A GEARBOX. Hey folks, super long shot here. I wouldn't mind buying a Piazza gearbox, mine's done a bearing and I intend to rebuild it. However, in the meantime, it'd be nice to put something else in, and Gemini gearboxes have a different output spline, and MUA box...

Sorry for the belated reply - been pretty buggered lately. Yeah it's a bearing for sure. Being run too low on oil killed it! The gears themselves are "fine" pending inspection.. I've never rebuilt a gearbox, and I must say that compared to an engine rebuild, gearboxes sound hard, but it's ...

Sigh. So my Piazza decided it didn't like its gearbox oil. On a ~150km round trip in the country on a Sunday night. My only warning was a little bit of oil around the inspection plate the other day, which I was convinced was spilled engine oil else a rocker cover leak. In the middle of nowhere, like...
