Re: DOHC released before the SOHC

Isuzu sought advice and guidance from Conrero Ah - the line between advice & development... Do you have any info on the extent of advice for the DOHC? And what's the source of this info? Thanx. After deciding to develop a DOHC and a SOHC engine, Isuzu sent a G161(OHV) engine to Conrero in Italy...

Never seen one, only difference i can spot is 5kg lighter than XE. Knowing Isuzu they probably forgot to fit something, maybe it had the bumpers with the lighter backing beams although In think the weight difference on those is much more than that. Who knows? XF was the low grade model of the DOHC ...

The dark blue colour was the theme colour for Isuzu's Irmscher models as was the all black interior. Pictures don't do the alloys justice, they actually look quite good and they are certainly better than the horrible body coloured plastic wheel covers that were used on later Piazza Irmscher models. ...

Also I assume the Nero on the end of Piazza is after the Roman emperor Nero from AD54-68.

Origin of Isuzu vehicle names

Got this info from the Japanese Piazza Owner's Club. I have translated them from the Japanese so hopefully got them correct. Bellel: Roman for '50 bells', which is what 'Isuzu' means. Bellett: Younger sisters of the 'Bellel'. Florian: Named after a horse. 117 Coupe: 117 was the code used when the ca...
