Curse of the Piazza

Post by Chris »

Well as most guys know, I went on Wednesday with a 78 ZH V8 up to Cairns (1800kms) to trade the car in with a Piazza Auto for Joe (Piazza Gurl). So up we went!!!

Half way in the middle of the bush the ZH died on me.

I was totally confused as I done my apprenticeship at Ford and thought it can?t be that hard to fix. But no!!! ZH wouldn?t start anymore. Took me like 2 hours to figure out it was the Pointer Fork of the Dizzy. Well didn?t have another Dizzy on me, so I just sticky taped the fork and off we went again. ( Come on which car could you just sticky tape and keep on going??!!) Anyways, after we camped at Rocky we made it to Cairns after 22 hours drive.

Just before we entered Cairns David (The guy who we are doing the Piazza Swap with) rang me on my cell and told me that he just took out the gear box to fix the rear main seal.

I was like, OMFG not again!!! He will never get the gearbox back in.. Anyways at his place we spent 3 days trying to get the gearbox back in without success.

I tell ya out of experience with my red piazza which I sold to Steve that is one cunt to put out the gear box and put it back in.. Out is easy, In is the bitch.!!

First attempt we bend the middle nozzle of the torque converter. So we Knocked it back into place but the bloody gear box wouldn?t bolt all the way back in.. After 10 attempts and 2 days we gave up. So it was Saturday night and I told him I had to be back home on Monday, so he offered me to take his 86 Ford Fairlane Ghia home and he would pick it up when the piazza is ready. 400ks of cairns we stopped at Alvi Beach to have a break and enjoy the sight. Well for some reason I thought a FORD will make it onto the beach.. Guess I was wrong and we got bogged.

2 Hours later a helpful guy in a 4x4 got us out and we camped in Proserpine. Next day 10ks of the camp site the Ford didn?t wanna go into gear, no gears at all.

So we had to leave the ford their and fly back home.

Well anyways, point of this story is that there is a curse on the PIAZZA. Like my first one in 2002 was smashed by a truck after 2 weeks, than the red one we couldn?t get the gearbox back in and the white one I sold for peanuts because I needed the money.

Pirates of Australia, The curse of the Piazza they should call it.!!
