I did a rego check a couple of years ago and the number then was in the 200-250 mark in NZ that were actually on the road plus about another 50 odd that were still on the books but not actively licenced on the road

The GMH Australian import figure of 200 is often quoted, but I reckon this is wrong by observation alone.
My belief is 700 in total. This was 2 orders by GMH of 350 each, though GMH won't admit to the 2nd order. (Both were the '86 turbos; about 3 months apart.)
Most or all of the 2nd batch were sent around Australia - typically one to each Holden dealership.
Others went to things like Sale Of The Century etc.

From observation I'd argue there were at least 400, and 700 seems about right.

The figure of ~700 apparently also concurs with Isuzu production information. Only GMH were clever enough to obtain the older chassis and modify its suspension. (LOL!)
IZU069 - ISUZU means a lot to me.
