"styled by Giugiaro" badge

Post by Piazza_man »

Image

The image above is off the early Lotus Esprit, which have special little metal badges on the front fenders. I tried finding other or better images but this will do for now. If anyone else is aware of these same badges appearing on other cars/models let me know. Meanwhile I figure these badges still deserve a place on the Piazza. But it's not as if these badges are easily accessible these days.

Back when I had my car I created original artwork for screen printing onto aluminium plates. I was then able to duplicate the original badge that you see above. I put them on my car, but I didn't make any more copies at the time. I can only show you the artwork, and would be easy to run off more sets.

So if anybody wants these badges to add some finesse and style to your ride let me know. Cost is unknown because it depends on how many I produce per batch, but I would imagine it would cost maybe $15 per set. I won't be charging extra to make any profit guys. Just the production cost.

Really cool badges!! I got the Lotus badges on my car, so theres no need for any other emblems there...

Sorry for the offtopic Eyecon, but do you have any plans on buying a new Piazza ?? If that was/is the case, I think I would have checked on your old car, to see who owns it now, if the owner wants to sell it, where it is and so on...

Good to see I wasn't the only fanatic out there. Would you mind sending a closeup photo of your badge, and include the size of the badge. When I made mine I had to work off a slightly dodgy image, and I had to guess what the size of the original badge was. BTW where did you place your badges?

I gave Chris (APC member) some details about my car, because he offered to help find out where my old car is. He hasnt got back to me and I'm in no position to bug him about it. Afterall he was doing me a favour and I don't expect him to bend over backwards for me.

How about this one:

It looks to be an updated version of the original badge. I like the idea if re-creating this badge to give that updated/modern look. Any takers?

Thanks Piazzish. I actually thought you had the 'styled by Giugiaro' badge. No to worry. BTW I bought two original and new 'design GIUGIARO' badges the other day from feebay. $25 incl delivery from UK. Even though I dont own a Piazza (yet) I couldnt turn down a bargain. Here is a link if anyone else is interested:

FYI the badges are made for certain Fiat and Alfa Romeo models.

Thank god for Ebay :supz: There are quite a few cars stock with these emblems. A couple weeks ago I saw one little alfa with the design by guig emblem.

Got my badges from the UK a few days ago. Now it's just the small insignificant matter of finding a car to put it on to... kind of like the horse before the cart...

It might take me that long too, although I'm not actively looking at this stage. I hope to be later in the year. Have to build a house first.
