It is a Giugiaro Edition which was a very limited model released by Isuzu in late 1979 in recognition to Mr G. for the very positive reaction to his Ace of Clubs design (Piazza). The Giugiaro Edition featured a unique interior design which was a copy of the interior of the Lancia Megagamma concept car done by Mr G. for the 1978 Turin Motor Show. Isuzu used imported German fabric and leather inside. Each car also included a glovebox emblem personally signed by Mr G.

Thats a nice car.

Im not wanting to bag it out and i know its the japs fault but oh the mirrors. lol. I rekon a set of tough wheels would take the focus off em.

Sorry for swearin at ya, im sure you want to keep it as is.

Nice 117
Are the mirrors electric? Would be annoying to adjust if they weren't.

Only electric on the top model XE.

Wing type mirrors were compulsory on all JDM models up to 1983. The 117 Coupe mirrors look far better than the horrible Piazza wing mirrors.

Belletts sold here seemed to have them too.
Driving a HK Holden with those little round mirrors has bad enough visibility, i can imagine how little you'd be able to see if it were a metre away.

Looking good Paul, I can confirm to everyone it is even better than it looks when up close and personal. Got new warrant on the Nero yesterday. First time we have had to do anything to get it through, couple of brake hoses and both bottom ball joints. No sweat had all the bits on my secret shelf.

Looking to re paint the roof and bonnet to fix the UV damage as the rest of it is fine. Got a bloke I know who is a wizard with colour matching so should come out okay.

Just thought you might want to know, I had the pleasure of observing 2 of these beautiful cars a month ago when I purchased my piazza from a chap in katikati.

One was the arly model with a carburetted twincam while one was the later, like yours with an injected twincam. I think they were 1800 and 2000cc respectively.
