Finished at last

Post by wedgenut »

Well it has been a mission turning the boy's ex paddock racer into something but it is finished now. The colour is Monza red which is a bit brighter than original but not that much. All it needs is final polish and clean the windows and off for its test and rego. I think the colour coded bumpers was the way to go, the little bugger conned me into fitting my spare turbo bumper, what can I say, I was weak and gave in.

Hey I didn't notice when I took the picture but there are three Piazzas in shot, number four was off somewhere with the wife.

It used to be an Isuzu, well it still is of course but the boy has always wanted a Holden so now he has what he wants. I will tape over the badge for the test as they are a funny lot at the testing station.

Nice paintjob!

Why no Holden badge on the front?

If he doesn't I will kick seven kinds of shit out of him....wait...he's nearly bigger than me. Okay I'll stab him when he is sleeping, I wish I could have had a car like that when I was his age, credit where it is due he is paying the bills.

Well it's an okay paintjob done in a tight space with poor lights and no extraction so lotsa dust to block off afterwards. But hey its twenty years old WTF

Didn't have one, it was an arm wrestle getting Matt to send me over the garnish so if you got one you don't want chuck it my way. Can't change the fact it is registered as an Isuzu though but who cares, it is different.

If I did it again I would fill in those grooves, here is a tip, spend some money on a good blocking agent before priming. peace of mind knowing it isn't going to fall off or fry is worth the investmernt.

Thanks for your comments guys.

Next time i'm at the wreckers i'll grab one off an RB(JT) Gemini for you, uses same mounting pin holes as Piazza one if your grille is the type with the recessed square where the badge goes.
That's funny how Aussies want Isuzu badges and kiwis want Holden ones.. Bet japs would put Holden badges on their Piazzas too lol

I'm sure I got a spare one still on a broken grill under the house so I will retrieve it before it goes in the recycling, I'll let you know.
