Selectors

Hiya

Guys my gearbox is pretty rooted. I've toyed with finding a decent second hand one and replacing it or getting a 2.3 rodeo one but have decided to rebuild the one I have as it's pretty tight and I may as well have a new(ish) one if I can. Problem is, trying to get hold of a 1st - 2nd and 2nd - 3rd gear selector hub new is almost impossible. Holden no longer stock them and Rare Spares don't either. I've found a guy in Thomastown (i think) who thinks he can make them as he's done them before quite a while ago, but needs a sample to build them. Failing that, does anyone know who/where I can get some? Anyideas or suggestions? I'm getting a bit stressed :blob4:

Cheers for any input!

You pulled it apart yet?
On mine the blocker rings had worn out. I'd be surprised if they're not the same as any other MSG box especially the steel sandwich plate/large output shaft versions. The only difference would be the gear set.

Not yet. I'm taking it in to my mechanic tomorrow to pull it apart and we'll be able to see from there what the next step will be. I'll keep you posted :-)

Bob would be your man, he could probably tell you if the rodeo box has the same hubs even though the actual gear ratios are different

Having them made up as we speak. Should be on the road by next week sometime along with a new Fuel Press Reg and shortened gearstick and short throw shifter :-)

btw; does anyone know who owns the red piazza that drove through Kew on Friday? It's the first one I've seen getting around other than mine so I was pretty stoked!

CHeeky shit :butthead:

On another note not related to this thread, are we going to be able to organise a Piazza cruise in Melbourne soon?

Yes we should. I should have the silver car on the road within a month, Rodeobob has one nearly ready to go. Ive tracked down a Piazza in the city thats keen to come along, along with peter a, bartaman and Daniel [PF60E ZZ/R Gemini]. Should make for a decent turn out if we can get Rick to bring one of his Piazzas.

I dont know about the arse cog, hes pretty hopeless. Perhaps if we all call him names he might be shamed into fixing his Piazza.

Hes gone a bit quiet, i was starting to think that the little white men in the little white truck had come to take him away Ha Ha.

Too many Isuzus can do that too you.

Bob.

I HAVE been shamed into getting into gear, now that im single i find that most girlies dont particularly like the Camry much...but dont worry, there isnt much work needed to get her running. Although i really need to convert it to manual ASAP...

Out of 7 cars, only ONE was not an Isuzu. Pretty good score if you ask me.
