Hey guys, just wondering ( im doing a piazza turbo install in my gem ) if i run an auto for a while, what tailshaft am i going to have to use?

I got a standard tailshaft with my engine and box.

I am going to convert my gem to manual later on, just wanting to see how the engine goes.

Any help would be great.

Can i seperate the yokies and match them to my gem diff?

I haven't looked to see if they are close to the same length or anything, just wondering if anyone has done this before.

Thanks.

I don't think too many people run auto piazza engines!
Piazza unis are different to Gemini ones but the Gemini auto uses the Piazza spline

Say what? All I seem to find for wrecking is those goddam autos!

The Piazza auto prop shaft length is 1830mm from diff flange to spline end.
(It's ~1110mm from flange to centre-carrier bolt holes).

The spline is the bigger spline - ie, ~39mm diameter, not ~35mm (sorry - I couldn't find my verniers!).

They are a pretty good tranny, Aisin Warner manufacture, same unit used in many Toyotas and you know they never break, also some volvo models use the same internals but diifferent housing I believe. Early boxes did not have the lock up TC but i think all the oz ones would as you didn't get the Piazza till very late in the piece. Spare parts like valve body gaskets, passage NR balls, filters, seals etc are all easy to get and cheap as chips. They are also a very easy tranny to work on.
