The dump pipe is not fine, but dont worry about it too much as its not really worth the cost. Leave it alone, and worry about getting a better dump when the standard turbo blows and you replace it with something better
As for the exhaust, on a turbo car there is no such thing as too big [within reason ofcourse]. I would go straight for a 3" mandrel bend exhaust made in mild steel. Forget stainless as its not really worth the extra cost.

Just go the 3", especially if you might be tempted to do other stuff later on. That goes for both of ya's.
My exhaust is fair rooted as well, quite a few holes in the muffler, although thats not why i want to replace it. The fact that the ID goes down to 1.5" on the bends is abit more worrying LOL, so 3" mandrel bend it is.

well i didi it today, went and got a full 3inch mandrel bend exhaust from the turbo all the way with a 3inch high flow cat, it is sweet the car flys now and the sound is great. i use to change gears and have to wait for the boost to come on but now it is like a motorbike power band. altogether it cost me 550 which seems alright cause it took the guy 6 hours to do it and it looks really sweet.
if you are like me and thinking about it just go do it it is worth every cent

The exhaust was done by car line muflers in Emu Plains
How can i put the boost down, i have put it back to standard, i have tried everything, i even tried disconnecting the little motor that pulls on the turbo so it would come arcoss easiler but nothing works. The lowest i can get the boost is 12psi and now something has shit itself, every time the car gets to 4000rpm the engine starts missing and tries to go but s if something is holding it back? like a boost leak or something

have you checked all hoses for leaks? Also if you have replaced some hoses with thinner in diameter than that could couse your boost increase.

Your problem lies in the spring in the standard actuator. Its tension is set to hold 7psi on a standard Piazza, however the extra airflow is forcing the spring open. Speak to a turbocharging specialist.
The "misfire" actually sounds like the standard knock control on the Piazza kicking in. Detonation?

I dont follow that Nick.GeminiCoupe wrote:Your problem lies in the spring in the standard actuator. Its tension is set to hold 7psi on a standard Piazza, however the extra airflow is forcing the spring open. Speak to a turbocharging specialist.-
Extra/to much flow would force the wastegate open and pull against the spring and in the actuator. That would cause less boost.
This is how i think it works, maybe im missing something. If im wrong learn me.
Extra boost wont hold the wasegate shut to cause more boost.
Boost from the outlet side of the compressor is hooked via a hose and that pushes the digafram in the actuator against the spring and opens the wastegate via the control rod. The spring tension is set to 7 psi std. So with a more open system it should boost up quicker because of less restriction and hence the wasegate will open sooner.
Maybe something has upset the electronic overide for the waste gate. Is it still connected??? if so try it with that un hooked. That will let it open when the actuator wants it to open and not override it.
Its either that or the increased flow has set the turbo free in its ability to spin and theres just way too much hot stuff going out and the wasegate hole is now too small. You could try driving it with the wastegate wired open and see if it will build any boost.
You said the dump pipe is still std, is the O2 sensor still hooked up??? The extra flow could be upsetting its reading too.
You say something has shit itself, id say that 12psi would make for a very unhappy 4ZC1 especially at 4000rpm. Id be aiming at keeping it under 10psi at full noise. Safer that way.
I wouldnt think the std ignition and ECM would be able to handle the ask, but youd have to fiddle with the timing at a minium to keep it happy at above 10psi.
